                | | In 1961, the organization of the “All Mitsubishi Sports Meeting” was set up
for the purpose of promoting sports techniques, mutual friendship
and harmony among Mitsubishi group members through sports activities
under the Mitsubishi Club (founded in 1957 and renamed as the
Mitsubishi Yowa* Club in 1973). In 1978, the cultural sector
joined in this organization, hoping to spread its activities
throughout the Mitsubishi group in a manner similar to the
sports sector. As the results, it became the “All Mitsubishi
Sports and Culture Meeting”. Thereafter, in 1981, the Mitsubishi
Yowa* Club merged with the Mitsubishi Yowakai* Foundation together
with the Mitsubishi Sports Club (organized in 1975). At that
time, it was considered suitable that the All Mitsubishi Sports
and Culture Meeting should be managed as one single event under
the control of the Mitsubishi Kinyokai*. Therefore, the Mitsubishi
Yowakai* Foundation has been consigned to work as the secretariat.
The work has been continuing up to now. The origins of the All Mitsubishi Sports and Culture Meeting can be traced back to “the Mitsubishi
Exercise Club” which was established in 1903 by Mr. Hisaya
Iwasaki, the third chairman of Mitsubishi group.
